2005/2006 PACC Concert Series for the Benefit of the Organ Restoration Fund
Sunday, September 25, 2005 at 3:00 PM - Jacqueline Schwab, Pianist
Folk and classical improvisational pianist heard on Ken Burns’ Grammy award-winning PBS documentary "The Civil War"
The Park Avenue Congregational Church Concert Series opens their 15th season with a very special concert by a celebrated local artist. In addition to the afore-mentioned work on "The Civil War", Jacqueline Schwab has worked with Ken Burns on numerous other projects, including "Baseball" and "Mark Twain". Ms. Schwab's eclectic style defies categorization: her musical pieces weave tapestries with influences from classical (Bach, Debussy, Bartok) to parlor piano songs, traditional Celtic and English music, and more contemporary blues and tangos! In addition to the various soundtracks she has recorded, she has also collaborated with many other traditional and folk artists, including singer-songwriter Dillon Bustin, singer Jeanne Morrill, Scottish fiddler Laura Risk, cellist Abby Newton and glass armonica player Dean Shostak. More information about Jacqueline Schwab is available at her website: jacquelineschwab.com.
Ms. Schwab will perform in the Sanctuary of the Park Avenue Congregational Church, 50 Paul Revere Road, Arlington, MA. A Post-Concert Artist's Reception will be held in the Parish Hall.
Tickets are available in advance: Adults - $12, Seniors/Students - $8 ; at the door: Adults - $15, Seniors/Students -$10
